Under the aegis of IQAC, our NISM Club participated in an Online Student Development Program (SDP) on How to Start Investing – Operational Aspects -I”. The session was organized as a part of NISM Student Development Program Series and was addressed by CA (Dr.) Pinky Agarwal.
The session focused on the fundamentals of investing and account opening, covering the KYC process, opening and linking Demat, trading, and bank accounts, and navigating investment platforms. Students were also introduced to key investment products, including stocks, mutual funds, and bonds, enabling them to understand the basic avenues available for investment.
Students were guided to adopt a long-term, analysis-based approach towards investment rather than short-term speculative trading. Furthermore, the resource person elaborated on the types of Investors – Conservative, Moderate, Aggressive, Ultra-HNI and Institutional – and their suitable investment products like PPF, FD, Debt Mutual Funds, Balanced Mutual Funds, NPS, Direct Equity and G-Secs.
