Jalandhar, May 22, 2023: The institute organised a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Micro and Small Rural Incubation in Technical Institutions. The FDP is being sponsored by Rural Development Department of National Institute of Teachers’ Training & Research (NITTR), Chandigarh.
The resource person for the Inaugural Session was Dr Hemant Kumar Vinayak, Associate Professor, NITTR, Chandigarh. The Day One of the FDP started with a welcome address by Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC. Dr Vinayak in the session highlighted the objective of this workshop and shared various case studies and success stories of entrepreneurs from rural areas who achieved success in their start-ups because of creative and innovative ideas. The faculty members also visited the incubation centre of IKGPTU.
Jalandhar, May 23, 2023: The first session of the day began with an enlightening address by Mr Anurag Arora from Mink Organics. During the session he stressed on the importance of incubators. The second session of FDP was conducted by Er Savita Singh, Assistant General Manager (District Development), Jalandhar & Ferozepur in NABARD. She highlighted the significance of agricultural funding schemes and various training programmes of government for the development of agricultural and entrepreneurs in India.
Also, the faculty members visited Dairy Kingz Milk Farm at village Khanowal, Kapurthala. The entire process of milking, packaging of the fresh milk and maintenance of livestock was explained and shown to the faculty.
Jalandhar, May 24, 2023: The third day of FDP started with a session by Mr Kundan lal, Assistant Director, Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). Mr Kundan discussed the various MSME innovation schemes for young entrepreneurs and students who have a passion for start-ups. He addressed the various issues related financing of the start-up projects and also highlighted the various funding schemes of Government to aid Start Ups. He handled the queries of students related to implementation of business ideas and various training programmes offered under Government grant schemes.
The last session of the FDP was a visit to Verka Milk Plant, Jalandhar. The purpose of the visit was to provide insights to the working of milk processing.
Jalandhar, May 25, 2023: The fourth day started with an initial session by Dr Hemant Kumar Vinayak, Associate Professor, NITTTR, Chandigarh. He talked about the various incubation centres and schemes that are being developed by Government of India for the purpose of providing support to the young entrepreneurs. The second session of the FDP was by Dr Srikant Sahoo, Principal, Northern Regional Demonstration & Training Centre, National Dairy Development Board, Jalandhar. Dr Sahoo shared his expertise about the dairy farming and how one can earn from selling milk as well as from using cow dung as source of additional revenue.
The last session of the FDP was by Dr Sukhdip Singh Hundal, Deputy Director Horticulture, Kapurthala-cum-State Nodal Officer Cucurbits & Kitchen Gardening, Punjab. Dr Hundal guided the students and faculty about organic farming. He elaborated on how to build a start-up business with horticulture products and also expressed that government is providing many facilities to support the farmers in India.
