Jalandhar, Oct 10, 2019: Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus, Jalandhar organised Zenith 2019, an inter-school multi-event meet. More than 400 students from 25 different schools participated in 24 events. Students presented their skills wonderfully at various events.
Jalandhar, March 8, 2019: The Cultural Committee of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus organised Creative Writing and Poster Making competitions. The topics for the Creative Writing Competition were ‘Women Empowerment’ and ‘Women Security Awareness through Cyber Laws’. The theme for the Poster Making Competition was ‘Women at the Forefront’. The objective was to give students a platform so that they can give an expression to their views.
Ms Deergha of MCA (VI) bagged the first position in the Poster Making Competition, Ms Urvashi of MBA (II) bagged the second position and Sunidhi of MCA (VI) got the third position. All the students who participated in the Creative Writing Competition were awarded Appreciation Certificates.
Jalandhar, Feb. 13, 2019: A three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Campaign is being organised at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus in association with Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The purpose of this camo is to enhance the entrepreneurial knowledge of the students and help them become successful entrepreneurs.
The resource persons for today’s session were CS Priyanka Bhatia and Dr. Ashish Arora. CS Priyanka Bhatia elucidated the Business compliances in detail. She explained the students about various ventures which have less legal complexities involved in them and easy to start with. She gave hands-on experience to students and explained the process of MSME registration. She gave an insight into the hassle free and economical way of registering a venture online.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus organised a competition called ‘One Dollar Venture' under the Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana for the students in order to provide them a platform to exhibit their entrepreneurial skills. The participating teams were judged on the basis of the uniqueness of their business ideas, marketing strategies, presentation skills and profit making in their respective areas. They were asked to start the venture with Rs 70 only. There were seventeen teams in total and each team had to utilise this amount in such a way that they could fetch maximum profits.
All the teams displayed extraordinary marketing and presentation skills. They went for door-to-door marketing to various educational institutions and public places, selling various products like plants, idols of Lord Krishna for Janamashtami and various kinds of healthy eatables and nutritious drinks. The students garlanded themselves with beautiful posters to attract customers towards their products.
One of the students expressed, “Participation in this event was a great learning experience. These were our first steps towards our entrepreneurial journey.”
A workshop was organised as a part of the induction programme held at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus, Jalandhar. The objective of the study was to provide guidance to students who planned to study abroad in countries like USA, UK, Australia and Canada.
Mr Saurabh Taluja, an official from Hayden & Reynott (H&R), an educational consultancy firm associated with Apeejay Education Society, started his address saying that as a consultancy firm, Hayden & Reynott has an educational background experience of more than 50 years and with the management coming from top Universities such as Harvard, Stanford and MIT, they understand the need and importance of having an international education. He also highlighted that H&R have managed to integrate the rigour of the Indian curriculum with the application process and the exams required to approach top Universities abroad.
