Apeejay Institute of Engineering, Jalandhar, organised a ‘Story Writing Competition’ for the students of B.Tech – CSE, who participated in the event with full enthusiasm. The objective of the event was to improve the writing skills and to widen their knowledge & presentation skills. Faculty of the Engineering Department assured of conducting more of such activities in the campus in the coming years so as to assist them in bringing self- awareness.
Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director of the Institute, appreciated the efforts put by the students. He rewarded the winners of the event, wherein the 1st winner was Kashish Sharma, 2nd was Riya Sharma and 3rd position was bagged by Vanshika Sharma. An appreciation certificate was also awarded to Yash Mehmi.
To acquaint the students of MBA with the industry requirements, an Aptitude Test was organised under the ‘Employability Enhancement Programme’. As many as 120 students took this test which assessed verbal, quantitative and logical ability of students. The Test was conducted to give students an idea of the competitive exams for Bank POs and corporate houses. One of the students expressed that, “Results of this test will give us a clear picture of where we stand and the area we need to put in more efforts.”
Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director of the Institute, wished the students great luck in all their endeavours and expressed that such tests would help the students in widening their perspective and grooming their analytical skills. He also motivated the faculty members to keep organising such sessions in order to better equip the students with the dynamic industry requirements.
Another student, Parabhjot Singh from BBA (3rd semester) was selected to play in the Inter-University Basketball Tournament. Prabhjot Singh first played in the inter-institute basketball tournament held in DAVIET, Jalandhar. Owing to his brilliant performance in the tournament, he has been selected to play at the University level.
Gurjit Singh from MBA (III) brought laurels to the Institute by winning a bronze medal in the Weightlifting and Powerlifting Tournament held from October 16 to October 18 in CGC Landra. Around 100 students from more than 15 colleges participated in the event. Gurjit lifted a total of 510 kg which included 120 kg chest, 165 kg squats and 225 kg deadlifting. His laudable accomplishment won appreciation from one and all present during the tournament.
